The Sewing Boxes
This little tower of drawers was a Christmas gift for my mom. She has tons of the antique sewing drawers lying around the house so I figured it would be neat to recreate a set for her. They're traditionally made of quartersawn white oak and stained. They also typically have pretty ornate features like relief carvings and fancy side panels. I opted for a humble textured recess on the drawer front.
There's nothing crazy about the construction of these. They're mostly butt joints with glue and nails to hold everything together. This was a fun exercise in recreating something without any true measurements or plans. I built the drawers first and size the frame to fit them. My mom really liked it, so I consider it a success :)
